About Lisa Cruz...

Corporate life as a financial analyst never really worked for Lisa. Writing memorable hooks is what really suits her spirit. In fact, writing memorable hooks is partly a result of writing songs from elementary school days, which is exactly what Lisa Cruz did. Then, like now, Lisa had the instinctive desire and ability to express matters of a young girl’s life in the form of music, writing songs and giving meaning to innocent matters. Her instrument of choice back then, was the drums. She excelled in many forms of this instrument in her early years as a musician and well into her teens and throughout high school. While her drum set went with her to Eugene, Oregon where she attended college, it stayed primarily in storage while Lisa participated in college life. Although she didn’t play the drums much, music was still at the center of what Lisa enjoyed and she remained loyal to the dream of pursuing music. After graduating, moving back to Denver, Colorado and finishing her Master’s Degree in Finance and Accounting, she enrolled in classical guitar and theory classes and began practicing as much as her busy schedule working full time as a financial analyst and later a teacher, would allow. The guitar became her songwriting partner and the two were inseparable. However, her most notable musical attribute is of course her voice. There’s sweetness in it that’s hard to find as she expresses tender subtleties of life’s circumstances in the lyrics she writes. She has written all of the songs on her CD. Lisa continues to excel in the field she has longed to find her in, and has realized an early and persistent dream.
